John was born in Cooranbong and completed his his primary, secondary and tertiary education locally. A qualified teacher John left the teaching profession and entered real estate in the early 90's, progressing to Principal of Johnson and Britten. In 2008 John merged his office with then, Dowling Real Estate Morisset, becoming Business Partners with Matthew Wilson resulting in, Wilson and Britten operating under the Professional banner.
